Wow! How times have changed!! This 1923 tax bill from the Village of Sloan was for property on Wagner Street owned by
Anthony Jablonski. His son John went on to hold the Sloan mayor’s office for quite a few years. Again, special thanks to
Anthony Jablonski’s grandson, Norman Banaszak of Tampa, FL, for preserving these amazing documents. These
documents are such a fantastic addition to our village history section.
Sloan has such a colorful and interesting history.  We are attempting to create an online “museum” reflecting that history. If anyone has any
old documents like these or any old documents pertaining to village business, we would love to put them on our web site. Simply scan them
into a .jpg or .png format and email them to webmaster@villageofsloan.org. If you do not have a scanner, We will happily come, pick up the
document(s), scan them in and return them to you in the same day.

This blueprint was filed in 1888! Note Vanderbilt Street. It is known as a “Paper” street as it was never developed. Gifford
Street over the years, while still legally Gifford Street, has (by attrition) become known as “Lovejoy.” Special thanks to
Norman Banaszak of Tampa, FL, for this amazingly well-preserved 120+ year-old document that he had to “assemble” from
three different scans. Thanks for the hard work!! Click on the image above to go to PhotoBucket to download the original
file. (The original file size is 3.83 MB)
