rinse out bottles. Place METAL

and caps. Kitchen cookware (e.g.
metal pots and pans). Labels do

Everything that comes with your
newspaper. All magazines,

and telephone books. Place in a
paper bag in your bin.
All brown cardboard. All brown
paper bags. Boxboard such as
Cereal, Shoe & Gift boxes. Flatten
boxes into a section no larger than
3 feet x 3 feet.
All food, soap, milk, beverage,
windshield washer fluid, detergent
and bleach containers with a small
neck and screw-on cap. Also,
wide-neck containers: butter tubs,
yogurt, cool whip and cottage
cheese containers and flip-top
lids. Remove screw-on caps.
Rinds and flatten container if
possible. Plastic Shopping Bags
are now accepted.
If your recycling bin is full, you
may use CLEAR plastic bags.

Village of Sloan 2011 Holiday
Refuse & Recycling Schedule
Utility Bill Payments are accepted between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm.
Board Meetings - On the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Meetings start at 7:00 pm and
take place at Village Hall. Click Here to view or print previous months' minutes.
ANY solicitations in the Village of Sloan require a Peddler's License. A
Cheektowaga License is not valid. The fee is $75 PER PERSON soliciting and the
application can be obtained at the Clerk's office during regular business hours.
Garbage Pickup - Each household is allowed a MAXIMUM of ten (10) bags of trash and
one (1) large item per week. Each bag must not weigh more than 45 pounds. Each
container of trash should not weigh more than sixty (60) pounds. All trash SHOULD BE in a
covered, waterproof container. All tree limbs, bushes, wood (NO NAILS!) must be bundled
and no longer than four (4) feet. Trash must not be placed at the curb before 6:00 pm the
day before trash pickup.
Recycling is strongly suggested in the Village of Sloan to help our environment.
Recycle totes are available for purchase at Village Hall for $10 each. You may use another
container for recyclables. Please make sure the container is set apart from your trash
containers. Recycling must not be set out prior to 6:00 pm on day before trash pickup.
